“A political organization run by Illinois’ largest public sector union just made its largest campaign donation ever to one of the state’s most polarizing figures.
The political action committee run by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Council 31 donated more than $760,000 to Friends of Michael J. Madigan Monday. That’s the long-time campaign committee of the Democratic Illinois House speaker.
This is more than three times the amount of their next highest donation of $250,000 that went to now-imprisoned Gov. Rod Blagojevich, also a Democrat, in 2002.”
