“Tuesday’s most expensive primary election, for mayor of Aurora, may be a taste of things to come next year.
Aurora voters saw a candidate backed by House Speaker Mike Madigan, in this case state Rep. Linda Chapa La Via, fail to advance despite millions of dollars spent by the candidates and outside groups.
Sarah Brune with the Illinois Campaign for Political Reform said the Aurora primary was the most expensive in the state.”
