Campaign Donor Audits Thornton Township, Has Been Paid Over $1 million
via Chicago Tribune, 12.22.2015
“The auditor who checks Thornton Township’s books each year is also a campaign contributor to township supervisor Frank Zuccarelli, records and interviews show.
Since 2000, John Kasperek’s accounting firm has been paid $1,223,051 by the township, records released by Thornton officials show.
State campaign records show Kasperek’s firm has given at least $47,000 to Friends of Frank Zuccarelli, a committee whose listed purpose is to ‘support Frank Zuccarelli for any elected office he chooses and to support other candidates for local elected offices.’
Kasperek’s firm has also given $18,490 to Thornton Twp Regular Democratic Org, which Zuccarelli chairs, according to state records.
The township defends its relationship with Kasperek as having nothing to do with politics.”
