Campaign Spending: Rauner Raised $75.5M Ahead of Primary Victory

“Gov. Bruce Rauner raised $215 per vote cast for him in the gubernatorial primary race last week compared to Rep. Jeanne Ives’ $12 per vote, according to the Illinois Campaign for Political Reform.

In all, the contentious primary raised $79.9 million – 94 percent of which was raised for Rauner. Ives raised just 5 percent of the total and garnered 48 percent of votes.

The Illinois Campaign for Political Reform analyzed how much candidates in the most contested state races raised per vote they received in the Illinois Primary on March 20. The analysis is based on contributions disclosures between Jan. 1, 2017, and March 20.”
