“MACOMB — The Democrat candidate for the Illinois House’s 93rd District has accused incumbent Norine Hammond, R-Macomb, of being in violation of state campaign finance laws by not reporting the receipt of several thousands of dollars from Gov. Bruce Rauner in 2015.
In a media release sent out Thursday night by Friends of John Curtis, 93rd District candidate John Curtis of Macomb noted a contribution by Citizens for Rauner in the amount of $8,000 to Citizens for Hammond was reported by Rauner’s committee to the state, but not by Hammond’s committee in its reports to the state.
“Norine Hammond either broke state campaign finance laws and failed to report a contribution of nearly $10,000 she accepted from Illinois’ most powerful politician, or she’s afraid to let people know about the governor’s very generous contribution just before crucial votes…” Curtis was quoted in the media release.”
