“CHICAGO — Jim Edgar is not letting up in criticizing his fellow Republican and current Illinois governor, Bruce Rauner.
Edgar spoke Tuesday afternoon at a gathering organized by theIllinois Campaign for Political Reform. He said Rauner shouldn’t refer to political rivals as “corrupt” because these are the same people he has to make a deal with on the budget. As he has in the past, Edgar also called on Rauner to set-aside his Turnaround Agendauntil after a budget deal is reached.
Edgar praised Gov. Rauner for setting aside the issues, which include term limits, redistricting reform, and weakening the power of government employee unions, in an effort to reach a short-term deal.”
