We’re always surprised when leaders work so hard to find ways to keep information secret when it makes no sense to do so if a politician is doing nothing wrong.
As U.S. Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., said, “In democracy, there should only be one secret thing, and that should be the voters’ right to a secret ballot in an election.”
