Hinsdale officials approved state senator’s fire truck ride during Fourth of July parade
In a follow-up to an earlier article about a politically-adorned fire truck during Hinsdale’s Fourth of July parade, Patch confirmed that Hinsdale officials arranged for a state senator to ride in a fire truck during the parade with what appeared to be a campaign sign.
RFI Executive Director Alisa Kaplan spoke with Patch earlier this month, saying that public property cannot be used for campaign purposes and that “while Hinsdale officials’ action may have been unintentional, the state has rules against such promotions for a reason.”
