The Illinois Campaign for Political Reform has named four well-regarded professionals to its Board of Directors. Among them is Cook County Clerk David Orr:

d2e4b39c-4864-4950-8775-063eb28f49fd

As Cook County Clerk since 1990, David Orr is the chief election authority for suburban Cook County, one of the largest election jurisdictions in the country. A progressive voice in Chicago politics for 32 years, Orr has been nationally commended for his leadership on election reform, the Motor Voter law, early voting, and student election judge programs. An advocate for open government, Orr fought for Chicago’s first major ethics legislation while serving as a city alderman from 1979-1990.

The three other new members also bring with them impressive expertise:

Hon. Suzie Bassi comes to ICPR as a former member of the Illinois House of Representatives, where she served from 1999-2010.

Mark Levy will Chair ICPR’s Finance Committee and comes to ICPR as retired Vice President – Tax at Henry Crown and Company.

Evan Palenschat comes to ICPR as an Associate Attorney at Kirkland & Ellis LLP. His expertise in campaign finance reform is extensive, with three essays published on the topic in New York Civic.

ICPR Board Chair Susan Garrett looks forward to working with the new members.

“We are extremely pleased to have such talented leaders join our board. Their experience and expertise will continue to reflect the positive direction of ICPR’s reform efforts,” she said.

ICPR’s Board of Directors now sits at 15 members
