“Illinois residents will not be able to register at polling precincts the same day they vote this fall, after a federal judge struck down a state law facilitating same-day voter registration on Tuesday.
The law required counties with populations of more than 100,000 to offer same-day voter registration at all polling places, while counties with populations less than 100,000 people were not required to offer the same-day registration service at all voting sites.”
