“Lincoln-Way High School District 210 has spent at least $821,284 in student activity funds on miscellaneous expenses, including purchases benefiting a private day care and the Superdog dog training school, a Daily Southtown review of records found.
Over the past decade, Lincoln-Way administrators have used activity funds to pay for board members to stay at the Palmer House Hilton in downtown Chicago, buy $69,000 worth of mugs, purchase thousands of dollars worth of poinsettias and cover meals for staff and administrators, district records show.
The district also has used activity funds to pay Lincoln-Way’s legal fees, cover tuition and mileage reimbursements for administrators, and pay membership dues for organizations such as the New Lenox Rotary Club, records show.”
