Mayoral race fueled by big, out-of-town cash

Registered Chicago voters will cast ballots for mayor a week from today, on Feb. 24, and they’ll have only one vote each. But the vast bulk of the money fueling the mayoral candidates is coming from a relative handful of big donors, most of them non-Chicagoans.

That’s the gist of a fascinating study out today from the Illinois Public Interest Research Group Education Fund.
