As the sun rises today, Donald Trump is the president-elect of the United States—Hillary Clinton conceded in the overnight hours even as the race was called by several news outlets. And Bruce Rauner, though still outnumbered in Springfield, made up some real ground in his all-out war with House Speaker Mike Madigan and other Democrats.
Those are the election numbers, and though Democrats did score a few wins as Susana Mendoza was elected state comptroller, Tammy Duckworth U.S. senator and Brad Schneider got back his old job as 10th District congressman, the other team was the big victor in an election outcome that much of the political and media elite frankly missed.”
