Quinn emphasizes connection to ‘everyday people,’ Rauner’s wealth during Democratic rally

Gov. Pat Quinn on Wednesday painted Republican Bruce Rauner as a rich man out of touch with the “everyday people” that he champions during the annual gathering of Democrats in Springfield during the run of the Illinois State Fair.
“I’m lucky to have one house,” Quinn said at the Illinois Democratic County Chairmen’s Association breakfast at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. “I’m running against somebody who has nine mansions. I have three credit union accounts and one checking account. I’m running against somebody who has more money than King Midas and likes to stash some of it in a place called the Cayman Islands.”
