Rauner Missed a Great Chance
via Commercial News
“Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner delivered his annual State of the State address Wednesday, with many people anxious to hear how he might propose to resolve the almost year-long budget impasse, his ideas to eliminate the state’s enormous pension liability and how he wants the state will pay its vendors.
Instead, he blamed the state’s many woes on its business rules and regulations and again called for the same reforms he has advocated for the past year.
Rauner, a Republican, and his counterparts in leadership in the General Assembly, both Democrats, simply ignore their role in creating an atmosphere in state government that causes more prospective businesses to look elsewhere than any policy or procedure.”
