Rauner term limits question won’t appear on November ballot

Illinois voters won’t get the chance to impose eight-year limits on state lawmakers after the state Supreme Court today refused to hear an appeal of lower court rulings that found the proposed constitutional amendment to be unconstitutional.

The decision by the state’s highest court came the same day as the deadline for the Illinois State Board of Elections to certify what will appear on the Nov. 4 general election ballot.
