“THE BUZZ: We are now on the fourth day of filings for the March 20 primary, and just one of the 18 Illinois members of Congress has yet to file re-election petitions: Democratic Rep. Bobby Rush. Rush was the recent subject of a recent Better Government Association investigation, which showed he owed $1 million for a shuttered church venture and was facing foreclosure on a home he owns in Michigan.
A Rush representative has not responded to calls or email.
At the same time, Rush’s son, Flynn Rush, is still gathering nominating petitions, but a woman who identified herself as his campaign manager insists he’s not vying for his father’s position. She said he’s sticking with plans for the 25th district, the seat Barbara Flynn-Currie will soon vacate.”
