Snyder’s Nonprofit Still Misses Mark On Transparency
Via The Detroit Free Press:
“In 2013, Gov. Rick Snyder vowed to shut down a nonprofit that was collecting funds from donors whose names were never made public. Instead, the governor said, he’d launch a new nonprofit with a transparent donor list.
And he did. Kind of.
The Moving Michigan Forward Fund, Snyder’s new nonprofit, publicly names its donors, who have given it more than $550,000 in the last two years. But here’s the catch: The fund’s largest contributor, the nonprofit Celebrating the Power of Michigan, controlled by Snyder, doesn’t disclose the names of its donors, and it gave $250,000 to Moving Michigan Forward this year.”
