“Iowa’s spending restrictions for political candidates are similar to those in Illinois — with one notable exception.
The Hawkeye State has a blanket ban for using any campaign committee money for the personal benefit of any candidate or any candidate committee member or associate.
Illinois has no such provision. This is of particular importance in La Salle County as former state Rep. and Auditor General Frank Mautino, D-Spring Valley, is facing questions over his campaign spending.”
