Tribune: RFI weighs in on ethics bill failure
Reform for Illinois’ Executive Director, Alisa Kaplan, spoke with the Chicago Tribune’s Dan Petrella about the fate of SB539, which failed to muster the necessary votes to accept Governor Pritzker’s amendatory veto in the Illinois House.
“The narrative about the bill has changed,” said RFI ED Alisa Kaplan. “I think that now there’s enough of a cloud over the bill that the calculus has changed a bit and that they can very persuasively argue that voting for this would be worse than voting for nothing and that it was worth it to try to get it right,” Kaplan said.
