We’re Standing Up for You!
2015 has been a busy and productive year. With your help and support, we were able to:
- Develop “Illinois Sunshine,” (illinoissunshine.org) a state-of-the-art database that tracks all campaign and Super PAC donations and expenditures
- Spearhead a successful effort to establish a budget meeting between the Governor and Legislative Leaders
- Pass legislation to increase disclosure of campaign spending by Illinois Super PACs and campaign committees
- Host 10 free forums at local colleges and universities with expert panelists addressing pressing public policy issues
- Offer a free daylong summit with well-respected panelists who spoke on redistricting, civic engagement, money in politics, and strengthening Chicago neighborhoods
- Host our second annual Leader’s Luncheon, where state leaders and elected officials spoke on the pension crisis, education reform, social justice issues, and government ethics
- Lead an action coalition on small donor matching systems – programs to match small campaign donations with public funds
- Hold an election analysis discussion on the historic 2015 Chicago municipal elections, focusing on voter turnout in neighborhoods
- Provide commentary for 118 news articles and local network news programs discussing public policy issues across the state
ICPR remains strongly and vigorously committed to making our democracy more fair, transparent, and inclusive. In order to continue this important work, we need the ongoing support of people like you.
We are tremendously grateful for your past support and know that there are other worthy causes to which you also devote your time and resources. We ask that as you plan your year-end giving, you consider contributing to a stronger and healthier democracy by making a donation to ICPR.
