What’s next following the ComEd verdict?

RFI ED Alisa Kaplan spoke with Craig Dellimore of WBBM about the verdict of the ComEd trial. They discuss what happens after the verdict, what long-term change is possible, and what citizens can do to create this reform.

Summarizing the trial, Kaplan notes, “I think what we’ve learned in this case…is that bribery isn’t always as straightforward as handing over a wad of cash.” With respect to avenues for reform, Kaplan continues, “In this case, we’re asking legislators to make rules that will essentially handcuff themselves… It’s not in peoples’ nature to want to put restrictions on themselves.”
